# Reading list

> The reading list at Bare MD Aesthetics — The Bare MD Aesthetics reading list: published research on collagen, skin penetration, hair counts and GHK gene-expression claims.

The studies and reviews discussed in this bulletin.

## Start with skin

The [fibroblast collagen experiment](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3169264/) is the most direct starting point for the collagen-production claim. The [skin-regeneration review](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4508379/) places it in a wider topical context, while the [tissue-remodelling review](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18644225/) describes the broader collection of repair-related effects across human and animal work.

For the physical barrier, pair the [removed-human-skin experiment](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3016279/) with the [review of topical GHK delivery and wrinkles](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11830136/). An ingredient name tells me very little beside that penetration result.

## Other experiments

The [human hair trial](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4969472/) tests GHK combined with 5-aminolevulinic acid. The [follicle paper](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17703734/) uses AHK-Cu. Those are different materials and different experimental settings.

The [gene-data review](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6073405/) supplies the threshold and scope for the gene-expression discussion. I give the skin measurements more weight when the question is a visible cosmetic outcome; the molecular work earns attention for the experiments it suggests.
